The ILC Operating Clarity Engagement
Impact Logic offers two engagement levels, both grounded in the same disciplined method. The right fit depends on the scope and complexity of the organization's operational challenges.
Focused Engagement
For one clearly bounded operating challenge. A focused engagement addresses a specific area where the internal structure is not working — and builds the clarity, roles, and tools the organization needs to function well in that area.

Focused Engagements are custom-scoped around one clearly defined operating challenge. Scope and investment reflect the complexity of the issue, the participation required, and the operating guidance or tools to be developed.
Organization-Wide Engagement
For several connected operating challenges across roles, workflows, decision-making, communication, and organizational practice. An organization-wide engagement addresses the full operating picture — so the organization can function well across the board.
Organization-Wide Engagements are custom-scoped based on organizational complexity, the perspectives involved, the areas being examined, and the depth of operating design and launch support required.
Investment & Scoping
Every organization brings a different mission, operating context, challenge, and level of readiness. Impact Logic custom-scopes each engagement so the work reflects what the organization actually needs rather than placing every client into the same package.
Scope and investment are shaped by the complexity of the challenge, the people and perspectives involved, the evidence that needs to be reviewed, the decisions that must be facilitated, and the operating guidance, tools, or launch support to be developed. Organization size alone does not determine scope.
We also recognize that mission-driven organizations operate with different levels of capacity and access to resources. Our goal is to understand the situation before recommending a path and to be transparent about what the work will require.
Depending on the organization's needs, the most appropriate path may be a Focused Engagement, an Organization-Wide Engagement, an Operating Clarity Diagnostic, a phased approach, a funder-supported opportunity, or a referral to another resource.
Our aim is to recommend the most responsible path for the organization.

Operating Clarity Diagnostic
When the challenge needs greater clarity
Sometimes an organization knows something is getting in the way of the work, but the underlying operating challenge is still difficult to define. The Operating Clarity Diagnostic provides a focused way to better understand what may be contributing to the challenge and determine the most appropriate path forward.
The Diagnostic provides an informed leadership-level view of the operating challenge and the appropriate path forward. It does not presume to represent the experience of the broader organization without their participation.
Depending on the situation, the process may include a focused leadership assessment, leadership interviews, review of selected organizational documents, and facilitated discussion of what is emerging.
The Diagnostic may help clarify:
- What appears to be working well
- Where opportunities for greater clarity or alignment may exist
- Which operating conditions may be contributing to the challenge
- What requires deeper examination
- Whether a Focused or Organization-Wide Engagement is the appropriate next step
What you receive
A concise Diagnostic Brief summarizing key observations, areas for further inquiry, and Impact Logic's recommended path forward.
When an operating challenge is not yet clear enough to scope responsibly, Impact Logic may recommend a custom-scoped Operating Clarity Diagnostic to clarify what may be contributing to the issue and determine the most appropriate path forward.
